Jules Beasley


Pre-KG

Jules holds a Bachelor of Education in Early Childhood Studies from Leicester University. She has taught early years for over 22 years in the UK, Jordan, Thailand and China. Outside the classroom, Jules enjoys reading, cross stitching and learning history.


Vicky Olgivie


Pre-KG

Vicky holds a BA in the History of Art from the University of East Anglia, PGCE in Primary Education from the University of Leeds and Level 5 Cache Diploma in Leading an Early Years setting. She has taught PreKG to Grade 2 for over 23 years in the UK, the UAE, Indonesia, Kuwait and Vietnam. In her free time, Vicky is a keen cook and enjoys reading and travel.


Rose Koini


KG1

Rose holds a Diploma in Early Childhood Education from Kenyatta University, a Higher Diploma in Science Counseling Psychology from Maranatha College of Professional Counselling and Training, and a Masters in Science Counselling Psychology. She has taught PSHE in Thailand and early years in Kenya, Indonesia and Vietnam. In her free time, Rose enjoys running, exercising and shopping.


Alicia Masut


KG1

Alicia holds a B.Ed in Foundation Phase Education with Honors in Special Needs Education from the University of the Free State. Prior to joining us at TH School, she taught foundation years in South Africa. In her free time, Alicia enjoys water skiing, deep sea diving, playing the guitar and ukulele, hiking and rock climbing.

 

Elena Allday


KG2

Elena holds a BA in Teaching English as a Foreign Language from the University of Sumy, Ukraine and a PGCE in Education from the University of Nottingham. She has taught PreK to KG3 and English language and literature in Ukraine and Malaysia. Outside the classroom, Elena enjoys reading and travelling.


Theresa Cormican


KG2

Theresa holds a Bachelor of Business Studies with German from Waterford Institute of Technology and a PGCE in Primary Education with a German specialism from Liverpool Hope University. She has taught a range of subjects and grade levels for over 11 years, including English as a foreign language, German, and grades 1 and 4. She has taught in South Korea, the UK, Egypt, Romania, and Dubai. Outside school, Theresa enjoys reading, horseback riding, painting, and playing Gaelic football.


Judy Wellbeloved


KG2

Judy holds a Higher Diploma in Primary School Education from Natal Teachers Training College. With 27 years teaching experience and 11 years administrative experience, she has taught Pre-KG, KG and Grades 1-6 in South Africa. Outside the classroom, she enjoys entertaining family and friends, golf and sport, travelling, cooking and reading.


Gisela Aguilar


KG3

Gisela holds a Bachelor of Interdisciplinary Studies in Education from the University of Texas at El Paso and is a Certified Educator Bilingual Generalist (Early Childhood to Grade 6). Prior to joining us at TH School, she taught kindergarten in the United States, Poland and Peru. In her free time, Gisela enjoys traveling and learning about other cultures, yoga, hiking and being outdoors.

 

Lisa Groom


KG3

Lisa holds a PGCEi from The University of Nottingham and Bachelor of Laws from the University of Wales, Aberystwyth. Before joining TH School, she taught Pre-KG and KG1 in Thailand and Vietnam. Outside of the classroom, Lisa enjoys reading and traveling.


Angela Wellbeloved


KG3

Angela holds a Bachelor of Education Foundation Phase from Embury Institute for Teacher Education–Durban. Prior to joining us at TH School, she taught primary in South Africa and Kuwait. Angela is a qualified entry level hockey and cricket coach and in her free time enjoys reading, craft, travel and adventure.

Jennie Evans


Grade 1

Jennie earned her Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the University of York and her PGCE in ICT from the University of Leicester. She has taught kindergarten and primary for over 16 years in schools in the UK and the UAE. Outside the classroom, Jennie enjoys trial bike riding, playing descant recorder, and attending music festivals.


Macarena Honeycomb


Grade 1

Macarena holds a BA in Modern Foreign Languages from the University of Seville and an MA in Early Years Education from Miguel de Cervantes European University in Valladolid, Spain. She has taught for over 10 years to grades 2-5 in Spain, Italy, Germany, Egypt, Qatar and the UAE. Outside of the classroom, Macarena enjoys travelling, baking, and reading, as well as painting, hiking and meditation.


Benedine Singh


Grade 1

Benedine holds a B.Paed in Primary Education from the University of Durban–Westville. She has taught for over 20 years to grades 1, 2, and 4-7 students in South Africa. Outside of the classroom, Benedine enjoys cooking, visiting galleries, and yoga.


Matthew Silvester


Grade 2

Matthew holds a Bachelor of Arts in Education specializing in Maths and Computer Studies from Goldsmiths, University of London. A CELTA qualified EAL teacher, he has over 21 years experience teaching PreKG to Grade 5 in the UK, Bangladesh and Thailand, and outside the classroom, Matthew enjoys sailing.

 

Rachel Tenzythoff


Grade 2

Rachel holds a BA from McMaster University and MS in Primary 1-6 Education from Medaille College University. She has over 18 years experience teaching EFL/ESL, TESL/TEFL, Special Education, and Grades 1-6 in Japan, Canada, Saudi Arabia, and Vietnam. In her free time, Rachel enjoys exploring new places, cultures and food, hiking, yoga, swimming, growing compassion through ME to WE, and dancing.


Tom Traxson


Grade 2

Tom holds a BA and MSc in Sociology from the University of Leicester, PGCE from the University of Warwick, and Cambridge CELTA. Prior to joining us at TH School, he taught Grade 1 at ISV in Hanoi, teaching in the UK before that. Outside the classroom, Tom enjoys playing tennis and football, he is also a keen guitar player and he loves watching live music.


Stacie Bosley


Grade 3

Stacie holds a BA in Human Development with Elementary Education concentration from Washington College. She has taught grades 2 and 3 in the United States and China and in her free time enjoys reading and spending time with her dogs.


Jill Sugden


Grade 3

Jill holds a B.Ed. in Early Childhood from James Cook University and a Postgraduate Certificate in Child Protection Practice. She has served as Pastoral Care Coordinator at St Andrews Catholic College in Queensland, Australia and taught students from Foundation to Year 6 for over 12 years in Australia, England, and the Falkland Islands. Outside school, Jill enjoys cooking, gardening, and travelling.

 

Michelle Sedgebeer


Grade 4

Michelle holds a BA in Photography from Nottingham Trent University, an MA in Photographic Studies from Derby University, and a PGCE for Primary Education from Sheffield Hallam University. She has taught for over 15 years in the UK and Vietnam and trained in leading the International Primary Curriculum. Outside the classroom, Michelle is passionate about road cycling, and she has cycled the Mekong Delta.


Ryan Sova


Grade 4

Ryan holds a Bachelor of Science in Geography from Salem State University and teaching licenses in ESL for PreK-grade 12 and History for grades 5-12 from the state of Massachusetts. Ryan joins TH having taught English to students in grades 3-5 in China. He is currently pursuing a Masters in Elementary Education at Merrimack College and enjoys reading, painting, and traveling in his free time.


Nicholas Roe


Grade 5

Nic holds a BA in Sports Science from Chester College and a PGCE in Primary Education from La Sainte Union, University of Southampton. A qualified TESOL teacher, Nic is an experienced IPC practitioner who taught at one of the first schools to launch the curriculum in 2000. He has taught for over 22 years in Brunei, Nigeria, Thailand, and Malaysia. In his spare time, he enjoys cooking, running, and swimming.

Phil holds a BA in History from the State University of New York, Oswego and an MA in Special Education from the University of Northern Colorado, Greeley. He has taught primary school for over 26 years in the United States, Morocco, South Africa and Russia. In his free time, Phil enjoys traveling, boating, reading, and spending time with family and friends.

 

Washiela Coghlan


EAL

Washiela holds a BA in English Language & Literature and PGCE in Intermediate Phase Learning from the University of Cape Town. Prior to joining us at TH School, she taught years 1, 3, 5 and 6 EAL in the United Arab Emirates. Outside the classroom, Washiela is an avid reader who enjoys watching movies, travelling, hiking, and going on nature walks.


Janie Turner


EAL

Janie holds a BA in TESOL from Hawaii Pacific University and MA in TESOL from Columbia University. Prior to joining us at TH School, she taught beginning to high intermediate English from age 7 to adult in the US, China and Taiwan, and she has also worked on assessment development for the UAE's Ministry of Education. In her free time, Janie is an avid bookworm who enjoys photography, drama, singing and dancing.


Colin Wray


EAL

Colin holds a BA in Social Science from the University of East Anglia, MA in Theoretical Linguistics from the University of Wales, LLb from the University of London, and Doctor of Education from the University of Southern Queensland. He has over 30 years experience teaching primary, secondary and tertiary in Thailand, Saudi Arabia, China, Vietnam and the UK. In his free time, Colin is an enthusiastic sailor who enjoys playing badminton and squash.

Anissa Ruiz


Music & Drama

Anissa holds a BS in Music Education K-12 from the University of South Florida. She has taught grades 1-12 music and grades 7-11 drama for over 18 years to students in the United States and United Arab Emirates. Anissa is a clarinet player, and outside of the classroom, she enjoys Zumba and has been a licensed Zumba instructor since 2005.


Maeve Culhane


PE

Maeve holds a BSc in Physical Education with Concurrent Geography Teaching from the University of Limerick and an Erasmus Mundus Masters in Adapted Physical Activity from KU Leuven. She has taught secondary school years 1-6 in Ireland and primary PE from KG2 to grade 5 in the UAE. Outside of school, Maeve enjoys reading, travel, and spending time with family, as well as hiking, running, and being outdoors.


Cian Hickey


PE

Cian holds a Bachelor of Education from Mary Immaculate College and Masters in Leadership and Management in Education from the University of Portsmouth. Prior to joining us at TH School, he taught grades 2 to 5 and served as deputy principal in Ireland. Outside the classroom, Cian enjoys soccer, Gaelic football, outdoor activities and cooking.

John Clark


English

John holds a BA in English and Creative Writing from Aberystwyth University and PGCE in English from Oxford University. Prior to joining us at TH School, he taught secondary English in the UK. Outside the classroom, John enjoys music, reading, writing, playing guitar, going to the gym, and comic books.


Tatpicha Luangwilai


English

Tatpicha holds a BEd (Hon) in Secondary Education from Chulalongkorn University and an MA in Teaching English as a Foreign Language from London Metropolitan University. A Cambridge English examiner, she has taught primary and secondary in the UK, Thailand and China. Outside the classroom, Tatpicha enjoys yoga, ice skating, cooking, dancing, reading and travelling.


Tom Rosavear


English

Tom holds a BA in English Language and Literature, an MA in English and PGCE from Cardiff University, as well as a Diploma in TEFL from the University of Wales Institute of Science and Technology. With over 43 years teaching experience, he has taught English, drama, and theory of knowledge in several countries, including Wales, Sri Lanka, Indonesia, Malaysia, Japan and China. He has directed over 50 high school plays and musicals. Outside the classroom, Tom enjoys reading detective stories, travelling and gardening.


Chrystal Sivertsen


English

Chrystal holds a BA in English and Psychology, as well as a PGCE, from the University of Stellenbosch. She has taught primary English and mathematics, intermediate English and South African Sign Language, and high school English and South African Sign Language. Prior to joining us at TH School, she taught in South Africa and Vietnam. In her free time, Chrystal enjoys dancing, hiking and trail running.

 

Denis Smith


English

Denis holds a BA (Hon) in Art and Design from the University of East Anglia, Cambridge CELTA, and teacher-training certification in Teaching ESL Students in Mainstream Classrooms (TESMC). He has 12 years teaching experience and has taught primary and secondary English and EAL in England, the Channel Islands, Thailand and China. Outside of the classroom, Denis is an experienced chef and PADI rescue diver, and he enjoys swimming and exploring Southeast Asia.

Hiromitsu holds an MA in Second Language Education/Curriculum and Teaching & Learning, as well as a TESOL Certificate, from the University of Toronto. He has taught EAL and secondary English and Language Arts for over 20 years in Japan, Canada and Saudi Arabia. Outside the classroom, Hiromitsu is a coffee connoisseur and baseball coach, and he enjoys camping, playing guitar, and physical outdoor activity.


Jane Ball


Mathematics

Jane holds a Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical Engineering from Northumbria University and a PGCE in Secondary Mathematics from Keele University. She has taught secondary mathematics for over 16 years in the UK and Vietnam, six of which she served as Head of Mathematics. In her free time, Jane enjoys baking, sewing, and travelling.

Mathematics

Alex holds a BSc (Hon) in Physics and PGCE from the University of Bath. A qualified and experienced TEFL teacher, Alex has taught physics, general science and design technology for over 18 years in the UK and China. In his free time, he enjoys producing music, playing guitar and bass, engineering, carpentry and joinery.

 

Trần Lê Phương Linh


Mathematics

Linh holds a BA in Teaching Mathematics in English from Hanoi University of Education. Here at TH School, she teaches grade 6 to 12 mathematics and this year will also be teaching cultural studies to non-Vietnamese students, introducing them to the history, traditions, customs, and food of Vietnam. In her free time, Linh enjoys cooking, baking and travelling.


Piers Voller


Mathematics

Piers holds a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics from Hatfield Polytechnic and Postgraduate Certificate in Education specializing in secondary mathematics from the University of Sussex. He has taught in the UK for over 29 years across a range of subjects including mathematics, computing, ICT, citizenship, and memory techniques. In his free time, Piers enjoys reading, exercise, discussing music, and classic cinema.


Ven Anderson


Mathematics & Science

Ven holds an MA in Teaching from the University of St. Thomas, as well as an MS in Forestry and BS in Chemistry from the University of Minnesota. She has taught for over 15 years in the United States, Mexico, Cambodia and Tanzania. In her free time, Ven enjoys hiking, biking, canoeing, kayaking, and gardening, as well as traveling and experiencing different cultures with her husband Kelly.


Ferdi Kaya


Science

Ferdi holds a MS and BS in Physics Education from Bogazici University in Istanbul. An IB Physics examiner, he has over 14 years experience teaching maths, science, physics and chemistry in Turkey and the UAE. Outside the classroom, Ferdi plays the drums and enjoys salsa dancing and playing and coaching football.

 

Eileen Murphy


Science

Eileen holds a BSc in Biological Science and Chemistry with concurrent Teacher Education from the University of Limerick. An Award Leader for the Duke of Edinburgh's International Award, she has taught middle school science and maths and high school chemistry and biology in Zambia, Ireland and Libya. In her free time, Eileen enjoys hiking, Gaelic football, travelling and exploring new places and cultures.


Jane Myers


Science

Jane holds a B.Ed specialising in Science and Mathematics from Sturt College of Advanced Education and BSc in Animal Husbandry from the University of South Australia. She has over 25 years experience teaching maths and science, animal husbandry and marine studies in the UK, UAE and Australia. Jane loves animals and spending time with family and in her free enjoys horse riding, reading, going out with friends, and going on new adventures.

Mark holds a B.Ed in Secondary Maths and Science from the University of South Australia. He has taught in Australia for over 20 years in a range of subjects including PE, maths and science. Outside of the classroom, Mark enjoys playing golf and volleyball.


Stephen Ripley


Science

Stephen holds a BSc in Science from Coventry University, and a PGCE and QTS in the UK. For over 15 years, he has taught a range of subjects including secondary science, maths and English in the UK and Russia. Outside of the classroom, Stephen enjoys playing golf, cricket and rugby, as well as swimming, cooking, and travelling with his two daughters.

Geography & Humanities

Lee holds a BA in Geography specializing in Urban Development from Western University and an MA Science in Education from D’Youville College. He has previously taught in Canada, Taiwan, Colombia, and the United Arab Emirates. Outside the classroom, Lee enjoys travelling, hockey, and running.


Gordon Robertson


Business

Gordon holds a Bachelor of Science in Tourism & Business Management from the University of Bolton and a PGCE in Secondary Education from Liverpool John Moores University. He has taught grades 6 to 12 for over 11 years in schools in Jordan, Romania, Qatar, Ukraine, and the UK. In his free time, Gordon enjoys traveling, scuba diving, and going to the cinema.

Lynda holds a Master of Education from the University of the Sunshine Coast and is registered with the Queensland College of Teachers. She has over 14 years experience teaching grades 7 to 12 in Australia. Outside the classroom, Lynda enjoys rowing, canoeing and kayaking.

Literature

Hoa holds a Bachelor of Philology from Hanoi National University and is completing her Masters in Science of Philology, specializing in Russian and Eastern European literature. In her free time, Hoa enjoys reading, listening to music, and gardening.


Nguyễn Thị Trung Anh


Geography

Trung Anh holds a BA in Geography from Hanoi National University of Education and is a certified teacher. Here at TH School, she teaches Vietnamese Geography to students in grades 6 to 12. Outside the classroom, Trung Anh enjoys hiking, painting and singing.


Nguyễn Văn Vượng


History

Vương holds a Bachelors in History from Hanoi National University of Education (HNUE) and has been awarded for his scientific research and pedagogical profession from HNEU. He teaches secondary history with a focus on developing students' critical thinking skills and preparing them for a global future.

 

Trần Thị Hương Lan


Language

Lan holds a BA in Teaching English as a foreign language at Hanoi National University and MA in Teaching English as a foreign language at the University of Birmingham. With over 10 years experience teaching secondary English, Lan has also taught at the university level and here at TH School teaches Vietnamese language. Outside the classroom, she enjoys dancing, singing and playing sports.


Trịnh Thị Quỳnh


Literature

Quỳnh holds a Bachelor of Philology and a Masters in Foreign Language from Hanoi National University of Education. She has taught secondary literature in international bilingual schools. Outside the classroom, Quỳnh enjoys reading and learning about history and culture.


Vũ Thị Thúy


Civics

Thúy holds a Bachelor of Education with Excellence from Hanoi National University of Education and a degree in Pharmacology from Phú Thọ Pharmacy College in Hanoi, as well as qualifications in IT and certificate from the Union of Schools. She has taught high school civics and at the undergraduate level in Vietnam. Outside of the classroom, Thúy enjoys listening to music and reading economic, social and political news.


Young Jin Choi


Art

Youngjin holds a BA in Art Education from the Art Institute of Chicago. Prior to joining us at TH School, she taught K-6 Art in the United States and Macau. In her free time, Youngjin enjoys drawing, painting, photography, swimming, and travelling.

 

John Speight


Art

John holds a BA in Fine & Applied Arts from the University of Ulster and a PGCE in Art & Design Education from Goldsmiths, University of London. He has taught art in South Korea and Kazakhstan. His work has been shown in solo and group exhibitions across Ireland, and his work has been featured in various publications, including The Ulster StarIrish News, and Ireland’s Home Interiors & Living.


David Crowden


Music

David holds a Master of Music from the University of Sydney, Master of Teaching from the University of New England, and Bachelor of Music from the University of Melbourne, and is currently writing a PhD at the University of Queensland. A trumpet player also trained as an opera singer, David has taught secondary music in Australia and England. In his free time, he enjoys being active, playing chess, seeing live music and visiting art galleries.


Nguyễn Thị Bích Ngọc

Ngọc holds a Bachelors from Bắc Ninh University of Physical Education and Sports and is certified as a teacher of physical education. In her free time, Ngọc enjoys trekking, running, swimming and dancing.


Daniel Raffo


PE

Daniel holds a BSc (Hon) in Sports Science from the University of East London and a PGCE in Sports Science from the University of Greenwich. He has taught for over 12 years in England, Thailand, Sierra Leone, and Vietnam. In his free time, Daniel is a keen footballer and loves participating in all sports.

 

 

Michelle Lockwood


Counsellor: Guidance and University

Michelle holds a BA (Hon) in English Literature from Western University, Bachelor of Education from York University, and International Counsellor's Certificate from Canada and the Counsellor Training Center. In addition to her work as a guidance counsellor, she has over 10 years’ experience teaching secondary English and has taught in Canada, Taiwan, England, Colombia and the UAE. In her free time, Michelle enjoys travel, exercise and reading.

 


Otis McFadden


Technology Facilitator

Otis holds a BSc in Chemistry and MSc in Chemistry from the University of Sheffield and PGCE from Sheffield Hallam University. He has taught secondary chemistry, physics, and biology and served as Head of STEM in the UK and China. Otis has recently finished writing a novel and in his free time enjoys writing, Thai boxing, photography, videography and weight lifting.


May Cameron


Whole School Learning Support

May holds a Bachelor of Special Education from Flinders University and MEd in Special Education from the University of Sydney. She has taught EAL and provided learning support for over 19 years in schools in China, Hong Kong, and the UAE. In her free time, May enjoys playing badminton.


Angela Hollis


Curriculum Director

Angela holds a Bachelor of Education in Humanities from Australian Catholic University. She has taught a wide range of subjects for over 26 years, including geography, economics, history, and social studies, to students in Australia, Thailand, the UAE, Switzerland, Vanuatu, Papua New Guinea, and the Solomon Islands. Outside the classroom, Angela enjoys reading, exercising, and going to the cinema.

He has taught EAL and English language arts to students in Guatemala, Panama, Colombia and the US. He also was a founding teacher at a school for immigrants and refugees in Indianapolis. Outside school, Daniel enjoys cooking, running, travel and literature.


Pauline O'Halloran


English

Pauline holds a BA in Sociology/Politics and English and Postgraduate Diploma in Education from National University of Ireland Galway, as well as a certificate in Personnel Management from Galway Institute of Technology. With 19 years teaching and 10 years administrative experience, Pauline has taught primary and secondary in Ireland, Brunei, Spain, the UAE, Qatar and Kazakhstan. In her free time, Pauline enjoys yoga, bodypump, running, hiking and cycling.

Stefan holds a Bachelor of Science in Physics and Bachelor of Education from the University of Toronto, as well as IB educator certificates in Physics and Higher Level Maths. He has taught maths, science and physics in China and Malaysia, and in his free time enjoys badminton and paddling.


Amanda D'Souza


Biology

Amanda holds a Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of Western Ontario and a PGDE specializing in Biology and Chemistry from Wollongong University in New South Wales, Australia. She has taught secondary biology and chemistry for over 12 years in Japan, England, Canada, Egypt, Barbados, and Qatar. In her free time, Amanda enjoys travelling and scuba diving.

Nick Bernard


Humanities

Nick holds a BA in International Relations from the University of Redlands, an MA in International Relations from Kyung Hee University, TESOL Certificate, and Florida State Teacher Certification in Grades 6-12 Social Science. He has taught a range of subjects to students in Vietnam and South Korea, including secondary social science, English, communications, PE, and Grades 1-5. A certified Crossfit Level 1 fitness trainer, Nick enjoys exercising in his free time, as well traveling and reading.

Johnny holds a BA in Archaeology and Ancient History from the University of Cardiff and PGCE in Education from the University of Winchester. He has been a teacher for 25 years in the UK, Japan, Vietnam and China, and for the past eight years has taught Humanities, World History and Global Perspectives. Outside the classroom, Johnny enjoys running, squash, and writing children's books.

Suzanne holds a BMus from the University of Pretoria and PGCE with Teachers Licentiate in Flute from the University of South Africa. Prior to joining us at TH School, Suzanne taught secondary music in South Africa. In her free time, she enjoys rock climbing, hiking, photography, and travel.
